Day-time in Bath
Shopping
Fancy a spot of shopping? You will not be disappointed. Bath's reputation for shopping dates back to Georgian times. Jane Austen mentions the fashionable Milsom Street in her novel Persuasion. Browse amongst the independent craft and curio shops of Walcott and Broad Street, Bath’s Artisan Quarter, or for some modern retail therapy, visit the Podium Shopping Centre, with its international range of restaurants and cafés. Or there is Stall Street, where most good high street names can be found. Don’t miss the ‘top of Bath’. Bartlett Street, The Paragon and Margaret’s Buildings are where you will find antiques galore in this exciting and condensed corner of the city. No shopping expedition to Bath is complete without visiting the markets. Walcot Market is held every Sunday, whilst Green Park Market, held daily on the former site of a Victorian railway, features stalls, specialist shops and a brasserie as well as the weekly Farmer’s Market.
